Depth Mode
Polarization enables us to see beyond the top layer of skin, which we cannot see easily with the naked eye. Cross polarised light reduces direct reflection and is paired with special cross polarised lenses to make skin become more transparent; exposing irregular skin characteristics underneath the epidermis. This enables us to identify spider veins and observe uneven skin tones within the deeper levels of the dermis.

Texture Mode
The visibility of the skin texture is enhanced by parallel polarised light in this mode. It reduces the visibility of hidden skin features below the skin’s surface and improves the optical reflection of the skin’s surface. Pore structure, acne scarring and superficial fine lines are all revealed to give us a detailed map of the surface contours.

Ultraviolet Mode
A small amount of harmless UV light is scattered over the facial skin and penetrates the skin surface, where cells and tissues naturally function to convert this invisible light into visible fluorescence. As a result, certain skin problems hidden within the skin such as sun burn damage can be clearly observed.

Wood’s Light Mode
This mode emits long-wave UV light and can detect active sebaceous glands or bacterial and fungal skin infections. Normal, healthy skin appears blue and does not glow. Excessive layers of dead skin may show lighter, where the skin is thick. Yellow or orange may indicate oil or sebum buildup and purple is where skin may be dehydrated.
Wood’s light also detects pigment irregularities like hypopigmentation (white patches), which will have sharp borders and show up as bright blue-white. Hyperpigmentation, such as melasma will show up dark blue and will also have sharper borders.

Aging Mode
In contrast to the clear skin tone we’re born with, physiological aging and UV damage will cause the skin tone to change and become uneven. This skin colour mode pays special attention to the subtle differences between skin tone and pigmentation, making it easier to recognise the impact of uneven age related pigmentation, rather than just the typical signs of surface aging, such as wrinkles and sagging skin.

Sensitivity Mode
In this mode we see local red flares within the skin, which indicates acne and inflammation in the deeper layers of the dermis. Healthy skin in sensitivity mode will show a light pinkish white, whereas darker pinkish red areas are where skin is more likely to be sensitive. This helps us determine appropriate intensities for your treatment & areas to be gentle. (Recent sunlight exposure or physical activities can also enhance redness)

Melanin Mode
In this mode the distribution of melanin can be clearly observed. It can identify where there is pigmentation and blemishes hidden beneath the top layer of skin, such as chloasma, brown cyan nevus or age spots. With this in-depth view, a better analysis can be made and a suitable treatment plan can be determined.

Skin Analysis FAQ
Your esthetician will guide you through the entire process and explain your skin analysis report in thorough detail. You will then be shown the full scope of options to treat the most pressing concerns. With the help of our exclusive system, a customized treatment plan and skincare routine will be meticulously built, according to your needs and budget.
There is no obligation to book any treatments, and you will take home your tailored skincare routine along with a full PDF report to further analyse back at home.
Only one consultation is needed to figure out a suitable treatment plan and skincare routine. Additional follow up imaging can be performed throughout your treatments, to assess your progress and help make adjustments if necessary.
The skin analysis can be done as often as you like, however we recommend doing this no more than 6 – 12 months apart, otherwise you will see minimal changes. This is unless you are tracking treatment progress of course, which may be monthly.
Further consultations can be done every 1 – 2 years to assess developments and make adjustments to help you keep on top of your skincare routine.

- Avoid strenuous activities or sun exposure two hours beforehand, as this can be perceived as inflammation on the sensitivity mode.
