High Frequency
A powerful treatment in combating acne, smoothing blemishes and reducing the presence of large pores.
The high frequency facial creates a mild electrical current through argon and neon gas to deliver enriched oxygen molecules into the skin, killing the bacteria and ultimately treating stubborn acne. This also boosts circulation, helping blood vessels to push toxins away whilst drawing nutrients into the skin. It stimulates cell renewal and improves skincare product penetration, helping the skin become instantly and noticeably softer.

High Frequency Scalp Treatment
Designed to help alleviate dandruff, alopecia, gradual hair loss and itchy scalp, this treatment uses a combination of heat and enriched oxygen to kill bacteria and other pathogens that cause itching. Sebaceous glands are stimulated to increase the release of sebum; an essential component for making hair healthy and locking in moisture to prevent skin from becoming dry and flakey.

In Detail
High Frequency naturally fights acne-causing inflammation and can reduce acne healing time by up to 90%. The device is composed of a special glass electrode that houses either neon or argon gas. When applied to the surface of the skin, a mild electric current passes through the electrode, prompting a reaction that produces a subtle violet glow (argon) or an orange/red glow (neon). Acne prone skin is typically treated with argon, whilst aging skin is treated with neon.
During the high frequency treatment, enriched oxygen molecules are produced, creating an antibacterial action and gentle thermal tissue warming. This reaction helps blood vessels push toxins away, while enriching the cells in your skin with nutrients and hydrating volume. In turn, this creates an increase in blood circulation and cell renewal that supports a boost in collagen and elastin production.
High frequency treatments are a natural way of improving cellular turnover in your skin by oxygenating the various layers. This improves elasticity over time to soften wrinkles and reduce fine lines. This treatment drastically improves the absorption of beauty creams and serums into your skin, maximising their effectiveness. A powerful boost when used in conjunction with our range of professional, medical-grade Dermaceutic products.

High Frequency FAQ
High frequency is a very gentle procedure with no downtime necessary. For those with sensitive skin, you might see slight redness for a few hours after your treatment, but that’s about it.
We recommend a course of 6 – 12 sessions depending on your skin condition and goals.
You may see an instant glow and plumper look after your first treatment. When used for acne treatment, you will likely begin to see less inflammation and a soothed complexion within 2 – 3 treatments. For anti-aging purposes, results vary and are far more gradual.
High-frequency facials can show very quick results, however these do not necessarily last very long. It may take 3 – 4 weeks for acne to reappear without consistent follow up treatments. For the purpose of anti-aging, these results can last much longer for up to 2 – 3 months.
This treatment can be performed as little as every 3 – 4 days and should not be spaced more than 7 days in the initial course of treatments. After this, follow up treatments can be performed every 2 – 4 weeks, depending on your skincare needs to ensure continued lasting effect.
High frequency is considered to be extremely safe and can be used on almost any skin lesion. High frequency facials may lead to over stimulation of the sebaceous gland which can leave the scalp feeling oilier than usual.
Many describe high frequency to have a slight tingling or buzzing sensation, however it is not considered to be painful at all. It’s often described as a relaxing way to finish your facial treatment.
Two Weeks Before Treatment
- Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen and try to avoid excessive sun exposure.
- Do not undergo abrasive skin treatments, aesthetic fillers, injectables or laser treatments.
Two Days Before Treatment
- Avoid excessive alcohol or coffee consumption as this can dehydrate the skin.
- Avoid abrasive scrubs, exfoliants, facial masks, self-tanners, bleaching or skin-lightening agents. This includes prescription skincare products, such as adapalene, benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A or Tazorac.
- Avoid any active skin care, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, AHA’s and BHA
- Avoid waxing, electrolysis or any depilatory hair removal products or methods.
On The Day
- Drink lots of water as this will hydrate your skin.
- Remove make-up prior to facial treatments if possible.
- Don’t apply creams or oils to your skin before the treatment.
- Metal jewellery should be removed prior to the treatment.
Avoid direct sunlight – Due to stimulation of the blood vessels and circulatory improvement, you may be experiencing mild to slight redness on your skin. Direct and prolonged sun exposure is generally not recommended as this will further stimulate the blood vessels and increase the redness.
Moisturise and hydrate – Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration which can make your skin feel excessively tight. This will also help speed up the elimination of toxins. Try to limit your consumption of caffeine and alcohol as these have a dehydrating effect on your skin.
Don’t pick on your skin – Your skin will not be irritated, but it is always a good idea to keep your hands away from your skin to minimise the spreading of harmful bacteria.
Apply SPF50 sunscreen – Your skin will be more exposed and susceptible to UV damage immediately post treatment. Refrain from prolonged direct sun exposure for the following weeks after a treatment if you can.
Avoid strenuous workouts, dry saunas & steam rooms – Increased blood circulation to the face can intensify warming, tingling, itching or redness immediately after treatment. Try to avoid these activities on the day of your microdermabrasion treatment.
Avoid other skin treatments – Having other facial treatments will limit the time of beneficial ingredients on your skin and minimize the benefits of this treatment. It’s good to wait a day before performing other skin care treatments.
Avoid makeup – You should leave the skin free of makeup for several hours to a day after getting a direct high-frequency facial so you reap the maximum benefits of revitalizing oxygen and antibacterial ozone on your skin.

- Wounded, sunburned or excessively sensitive skin

- Severe rosacea or acne
- Use a pacemaker
- Epilepsy
- Metal implants in the area of the procedure
- Prone to migraines (due to the buzzing from the machine)
- Areas of broken capillaries, spider veins and rosacea as high frequency may exacerbate these conditions
